Delivering a landmark headquarters designed around people, culture and future growth.
Edwards was appointed as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent to lead the design, procurement and delivery of JMW Solicitors’ new headquarters at 125 Deansgate, Manchester.
Working alongside the client and design team from the earliest stages, Edwards helped transform one of Manchester’s most prominent office
buildings into a premium workplace that reflects JMW’s values, supports collaboration and provides a flexible environment for the firm’s continued growth.
Today, the building is home to Manchester’s largest law firm, creating a landmark headquarters that balances exceptional client experience with an inspiring workplace for its people.
Our work.
Edwards was responsible for assembling and managing the professional design team, overseeing the project from concept through to completion as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent.
A two-stage procurement strategy was adopted, enabling early contractor involvement to test programme, the build and cost certainty before construction commenced. Throughout the project, Edwards coordinated the design, procurement and delivery process, ensuring quality, programme and budget remained aligned with the client’s ambitious vision.
The Results.
JMW now occupies a landmark headquarters that reflects the firm’s reputation, values and long-term ambitions. The new workplace provides an exceptional experience for clients while creating an environment where colleagues feel connected, supported and equipped to deliver their best work.
Project overview.
Creating a flagship headquarters that reflects JMW’s culture, supports its people and provides a premium environment for clients while accommodating the firm’s continued growth.
The challenge.
JMW wasn’t simply relocating offices; it was creating a workplace that embodied everything the business stands for.
The new headquarters needed to balance sophisticated client-facing spaces with high-quality working environments that encouraged collaboration, wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging. Every aspect of the project needed to reflect the firm’s professionalism, warmth and attention to detail, whilst delivering a flexible workplace capable of supporting future expansion.
What we delivered.
Working closely with JMW’s leadership team, architects and consultants, Edwards managed the project from inception to completion, ensuring the client’s vision remained central throughout.
The workplace was carefully designed around the needs of both clients and employees, creating premium reception and meeting spaces that inspire confidence and trust, alongside welcoming, collaborative workspaces that encourage connection and productivity.
Every design decision was considered through the lens of JMW’s culture, creating an environment that is professional without being intimidating, beautifully detailed without being ostentatious, and contemporary whilst remaining firmly rooted in Manchester’s heritage.
The result.
Designed to accommodate the firm’s continued growth, the project demonstrates Edwards’ ability to deliver complex workplace transformations that combine commercial objectives with thoughtful, people-centred design.
