The Point in Cheadle sells to Boutinot Wines

OFFICE building The Point in Cheadle, Greater Manchester has been sold to Boutinot Wines by Mapeley for a figure believed to be about £2.2m.

Manchester-based independent property consultancy Edwards & Co disposed of the 18,477sq ft facility on behalf of the landlord.

The Point is strategically situated adjacent to junction two of the M60 and within walking distance of Cheadle village.

Mapeley had recently completed an extensive refurbishment of the three-storey building to provide high quality, contemporary office accommodation with 85 car parking spaces.

Boutinot Wines, the international wine producer and distributor, is set to relocate to The Point from its previous premises in Gatley after 15 years as part of its ongoing expansion strategy.

Andrew Timms, director at Edwards & Co, said: "This deal is indicative of the changing out of town office market.

"Whilst The Point had been vacant for some time, owing to the increasing scarcity of self contained office buildings in the South Manchester region we ended up with several interested parties bidding for the property culminating in a contract race before completing the deal with Boutinot Wines."
